in the last few weeks I am hearing a squealing noise when i push in the clutch pedal. It sounds similar to a belt that needs replaced. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what it is and if it is going to mean swapping out a clutch soon?

The way your describing it, it sounds like the rivets on the clutch disc are scraping against the flywheel and pressure plate. in which case, yes, you need a new clutch. And if it's scraping, you'll need a new flywheel and pressure plate as they will be damaged. Is it slipping?

Its not slipping any. About the only other signs that it is beginning to get bad is the ability to start out in 2nd gear, something it refused to do when i bought the truck in 2012. lol

If it makes the with clutch pressed in, it could be throw out bearing or the springs starting to touch the pressure plate. (gets louder as you push harder) If it doesn't do it in neutral but it does it in gear, more likely the pilot bearing (mine seized with my foot on the clutch in gear waiting for the light to change)

Its just when the clutch is pressed in and is a constant noise (no change in volume as the clutch is pressed in). It happens both in and out of gear. Currently it is just doing it randomly but would like to get a head start on it. lol

sound like the throwout bearing to me.  Try pushing in the clutch and holding for at least 10 seconds.  if the sound is still there and consistent rev the motor up to see if the sound is relative to the rpm.  If when the motor returns to idle with clutch pedal still pushed in it makes the same noise i would really think throwout bearing... If the noise goes away or gets a lot less it could, I mean could, be the clutch disc rubbing rivets or springs against the other surfaces, only reason i even might think cluch disc is also to do with you stating being able to start it in second gear... shouldn't really do that lol. Not with out considerable luggin anyway. LOL jus thought of something else that can help tell.  get to a comfortable driving speed and just slightly begin to push the pedal in until the noise starts while under power. If the noise starts before the clutch slips it most likely the throwout bearing, if the noise starts close to the same time the clutch slips  it could be clutch disc.  gl snake

Does anyone recommend a specific brand for new parts? Will just be using the Manche for normal driving but want something thats going to last awhile.
