I can tell you first hand it's incredibly difficult to find the ax15 t-case linkage. I've been told this works, and better at that: http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/shifters/sk2xc.htm

As for the cover plate, is it that thin metal spacer between the trans and flywheel? If so, they should be easy to find in the JY if you've got time to drop a tranny in the dirt.

I might have one set of linkage kicking around still, I'll check later tonight.  If I don't get back to you by the end of tonight, send me a PM.  It's probably because I didn't have a chance to get back online.

The linkage is the same between combos, the only dfiference is the rod length.  The AW4 rod is about an inch longer due to the transmission being about an inch longer than the AX5 and AX15.  The AX15 linkage past the first rod is the same between the Cherokee, Comanche and Wrangler.  The shifter and first rod are different on the Wrangler due to the floor design if anyone was curious.

I haven't found the linkage yet but I'm pretty sure I have one.  Used to know where it was until I cleaned up...

  • 2 weeks later...

don't forget YOU HAVE TO HAVE the piece that goes on the body side of the linkage (AX-15)specific. Holes are in different location for the linkage for other trannys.

Probably where your main problem is, body side bracket.

Most people grab the linkages, but forget to get the most important on, the body side.

I usually take a utility knife to cut the carpet to get at the four bolts...
