hassyfoto
Well, like so many things the steering column is broke and the OE part is no longer made. I have a automatic vehicle, tile column with a column shift. The two main parts ( supports) that allow the column tilt, the lower one is damaged ( ears are broke off) I need this part. The original part was dodge part # 83504415. Unfortunately, this part is unique to a column shift, tilt column, from what I have learned. Anybody have this part, new or used? I was hoping to avoid the need to buy a complete steering column. Thanks
jimoshel
Aren't these parts the same as a full size Chevy? Any GM?

Since the part I need is specific to a column whit tilt & with automatic shift.
HOrnbrod
This place HERE says they have p/n 83504415. Maybe, maybe not. It's worth a shot to email them if you can't come up with a used one.
carnuck
I have a tilt and non-tilt side by side and the part looks identical
hassyfoto
Thanks to everyone, especially Carnuck. I took a chance & pulled a tilt column with a floor shift & dismantled the steering column at a Pick-your-own junk yard. It took me 3 hrs to do all the work. But I pulled the tilt assembly and the lower housing assembly is a match. The column shift has a extra metal band with 2 retaining screws as compared to the housing assembly in the the floor shift model. I noted that all the columns, "with out air bags" were identical. So lesson learned, there is only one internal part difference ( the metal band & two screws that attach to the housing assembly) between the column shift and the floor shift tilt columns. Crash
Nice find, but as one said before. Since these were built by AMC, the columns are basically typical GM style columns.
