CRM1988
What is the largest width and diameter tire I can get on my 88 Comanche Pioneer long bed with stock lift and stock aluminum spoke wheels without them rubbing the inner fenders?
Pete M
30x9.5s won't rub anywhere. 31x10.5s may rub a tiny bit on the control arms when at full lock. this can be remedied by adjusting the steering stops of swapping on WJ lower control arms (which have a bend in them for tire clearance) 31s on Jeep rims (from a ZJ) under a stock 4wd with and WJ arms:
CRM1988
Thanks Pete but I am really looking for a Street tire or mild aggresive, this truck is a daily driver and used to pull my camper so mostly road miles.
87manche1
235/75/15 or 30x9.5x15 is the largest without rims or mods
Pete M
then go with the 235/75, 245/70 or even a 245/75. the 245/75s are about the same size as most 31s and might rub the control arms a bit at full lock got 245/70r16s on my cherokee with no contact. Eagle
CRM1988, your question was about rubbing on the inner fender liners. The answer remains: 31x10.50-15. Those will not rub on the inner fender liners. They WILL rub slightly on the lower control arms -- so will 30x9.50s, probably, but less so. The solution is to use WJ lower control arms. If you don't want any rubbing anywhere, and you don't want to change anything -- then the answer is 235/75-15s.
92tanMJ
Get 31x10.50-15, then put a few washers under your steering stops...that's all of 30 cents and took less than 10 minutes including getting tools out and putting them away. And just for a visual reference: This is stock with 235/75/15 This is stock rear, 1.75" BB up front and 31/10.5/15 and 2" wheel spacers all around Image Not Found And yes that's the same truck. lol
