1990 Eliminator, Tampa Bay, Fl

Hey everyone, as some of you know I recently purchased a very nice 1990 Eliminator with the ultimate goal of rebuilding and doing a full restoration on. Turns out life had other plans for me. My wife and I recently moved from our house to an apartment and I no longer have the space for the MJ. The Jeep is currently stored at my buddies place in Brooksville, FL and that is where the Jeep would need to be picked up from.

A little back story on the Jeep and why I purchased it. This MJ is one of the rare ones in the fact that it was a single owner Comanche. I purchased the Jeep from the original owner who drove it for 20+ years before purchasing a new Chevy early last year. The other big reasons I purchased the Jeep were that everything is electrically sound in the vehicle and it is rot free. We have confirmed that the floorboards are rot free as we have removed the carpet and found only light surface rust.

The Jeep does have its share of dings and dents as you will see in the pictures. The big one being on the DS cab corner and lower bed corner. Not exactly sure what happened there, but there is no rust or rot to be found around the dents, inside or out. The Jeep does have a few issues I will include below, but lets start with the big details first.

- Price is $1500 Firm. I will not budge from this price as it is a beautiful MJ that I will gladly put in storage if I cannot sell it

- Jeep has roughly 208K miles (I cannot remember the exact number)

- 4.0L, 2WD, AW4 combo

- 35 Rear

- Cruise Control that actually works!

- AC Blows somewhat cold, needs a recharge

- Moon roof option

- All electrical components minus front fog lights work as they should

Known Issues:

- Front fogs need a relay

- Motor has a low end knock at higher RPM's. Did not bother me as I was swapping drivetrains

- PO got the transmission wiring wet and it will not shift out of first. We simply unplugged the TCM under the dash and were able to manually shift the Jeep up to highway speeds where it performed flawlessly. Again, I was not concerned as I was swapping drivetrains

- PO siliconed the moon roof shut "to prevent any leaks because I did not use it". Whether this is true or not I cannot say but it looks as if its in fine shape with no corrosion around the roof at all

- Needs headliner material on the headliner and mirrors, but the backing board is there and in great shape

- Steering is sloppy but was not a concern for me with what I had planned

- PO lost the door keys

This is a solid Eliminator for either an off-road build or a custom restoration project for someone. I would just hate to stick it in storage for 3+ years until we buy a house. But again, please do not shoot me offers lower than what I am asking as I will not accept them. I do NOT need the cash nor do I want to part with the MJ as it is a beautiful platform, I just do not want to let it sit in storage is all.

Here are some pictures:

(Tailgate is removed in the pictures but is included. Did not want any would be thieves to get at it)

(Antenna is back installed on the Jeep. PO removed it)

Those are all the pictures I have for her, but if you need anything else specifically let me know. PM me with any questions or concerns and I have the clean title in hand. The Jeep is really a ten-footer but it looks better than most un-restored MJ's rolling around FL. Thanks guys

Forgot to mention anything about the interior condition or take any pics of it.

If only you were closer, I desperately want another Eliminator. Don't think I'll be down that way until this fall again. Good luck with it but I'm sure it'll sell. Great price for a very nice Eliminator.

Indeed I did forget to mention the interior! Full console, armrest, etc. All are in great shape and the only piece that has a small crack is the lower dash valance on the PS. Dashpad is not cracked and is still soft as the Jeep was garage kept most of its life per the PO. It is a great platform to start with and even under the hood there is no hokey wiring jobs or any hacked together junk. The guy took relatively good care of it and even replaced the DS rear tail light with a Mopar original a few years back. We shall see if she sells or not. Would love to keep it and put my plan together for a cruiser/crawler for future wheeling trips

Bump to the top! Jeep is going to be listed on other forums later tonight. I wanted to give the CC members first dibs. I have a trip to Germany coming up in November and I need money so the Jeep has got to go!

Floors in the MJ have been treated with the POR-15 five step process. No holes in the floorboards at all and as you can see in the pictures, heavy coats were applied to prevent any rust in the future. Jeep is still up for sale as time, storage arrangements, and money are not in my favor right now. Had some medical issues come up so all the money saved for the Jeep is since gone. Interior is still out of the Jeep and will be put back in after a thorough cleaning and degreasing. Make an offer. Thanks

The dents on the DS were pulled out a bit as well

Me too haha! Somebody has got to want a rust free, own previous owner, Comanche? I will entertain offers guys (within reason of course). Interior is getting thoroughly cleaned and detailed this weekend then the MJ is getting put back together. If I put a new motor in this Jeep the price is going to jump a good deal so get it while you can! Clean and clear title in hand, ready to go

Yes! They are factory mudflaps! Just drove the Jeep the other day for about an hour without issue. Steering is sloppy but the motor sounded pretty good and felt alright. Transmission mount is shot but I never heard it rocking around until the other day. If anyone is seriously interested I will talk price. I really need the Jeep gone...

Forgot to add into the last post about why I need the Jeep gone. Our dog needs to have surgery and her well being is more important to my wife and I than the Jeep. Price is very negotiable everyone! Thanks,
