87Warrior
This is sitting in my driveway on an overnight test drive: Image Not Found Image Not Found 06 WK with the 5.7 Hemi and QDII. Seems like a nice clean SUV. The big kicker is the wife actually likes it. The 5.7 sure puts the power to the ground, the ride is smooth and the transmission shifts smoothly. 4-Lo even works. Has anybody here had any experience with these rigs, or with the drivetrain? Having never been real interested in the WK, I've done little to no research on them. I am turning for help and direction to better understand their quirks. From what I gather, there are a few know quirks with these rigs: - 16 spark plugs need changed about every 50K miles - Front diff bushings are prone to failure/wear - PCV valve likely needs replacing - EGR valve likely needs replacing and the 'bolt' mod performed :typing: Tips, tricks, or recommendations? 87Warrior
Well, after giving it a thorough inspection, we drove it home for good. Getting the EGR and PCV valves replaced by the dealer as part of the deal. Image Not Found Image Not Found 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK) 5.7L Hemi Quadradrive II 4wd (AWD/4LO) Dual tone leather interior More bells and whistles than I know what what to do with like: - Seat warmers - Ability to change language on instrument cluster - Heated side view mirrors - Auto dim bright lights - Memory driver seat and radio presets - Back up alarm - Rain sensing wipers - Individual tire pressure readouts And a fat 14mpg in town  The dang thing rides like a Cadillac, has a solid rear axle and will flat haul (in comparison to my TJ/MJ and her Camry). I am looking forward to taking it out to the Rockies this coming weekend.

Blue88Comanche
I have the 4.7L in my WK, as far as the WK goes I love it, I really wanted the 5.7 or the 3.0 CRD, but could not find any at the time. Edit: my WK also gets about 14 or so MPG city, the best I ever got was 21 MPG (700 mile round trip) The MPG rating for the 4.7 and 5.7 almost the same but the 5.7 has way more power to go along with it. knever3
We have had two '06 Hemi GC's. The one the wife rolled on a slushy day and the one we kept is going strong. 14mpg is normal, both got the same mileage. The one thing that bothers me is that 5th gear overdrive doesn't kick in till 62mph too fast for driving anywhere except the highway which I don't ever drive. If it doesn't start the battery cable is loose on the starter. Both trucks did this. Overall it's a great truck!!
COMJNUT
rear axles and rear axle seals are also prone to failure. My parents and a friend that owns the 06 and 07 WK that has had their rear axle replaced and seals needed to be replaced after one trip on the trail.
