Zebvance Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I'm going to install a 2001 xj e fan and I need help wireing it. I purchased a electric fan wireing kit. However I want to wire it straight to an on-off switch. Without a temp sensor. The fan has 3 wires coming out of it. Which ones do I use and which ones don't I?

dave92cherokee Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 The fan is probably a 2 speed fan which means 1 is ground 1 is hot for low speed and 1 is hot for high speed.

If the fan is from an 01 XJ, it's a single speed (two wires). XJs never had a 2-speed fan.

64 Cheyenne Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Use jumper wires, power up the fan, if it spins the wrong direction, reverse the wires.
