gogmorgo
Won't bother. Looked them up, and the one about the rotors is due to composite rotors that can rust and then have the rotor come off the hub, "reducing the braking effectiveness of the vehicle" and the other is a blocker plate because I might break the fuel rail if I run into something and shove the upper rad support into it. Not really worth my time right now. Really don't need a dealer seeing my engine bay...
dasbulliwagen
I'm a dealer tech. I'm not sure theres anything in your engine bay that would suprise me or that I hadnt seen before. Its all good though. A free set of rotors may come in handy though when your next brake job is due. Just hand them a new set of pads at the same time, and youre all set! gogmorgo
Yeah, maybe... could be a while, though. I just did pads and rotors a month ago.
rmoore1031
Well guys I found my build sheet today when stripping the interior. It was under the bench seat, in pieces... Found only a few pieces, so I'll never have the entire build sheet.
snakedoc67
I found the build sheet for my parts truck when I took the bench seat out but its falling apart and covered in mold. Might be able to piece it back together enough to see if its readable. Still haven't had any luck with my DD though, was wondering if I could get the vin checked as well, trying to figure out what the PO might have changed on the truck- 1JTML6312HT017732
Automan2164
Mine was behind the passenger door, with the armrest punched through it. Rob
mvusse
None of mine, including Booger, which I don't have anymore, or the parts truck most of which went to the scrap yard had a build sheet anywhere. That totals 2 MJs and 3 XJs ranging from 1987 through 1996.

snakedoc67
sweet, thanks. Would that recall on the O2 sensor be one that was missed?
dasbulliwagen
sweet, thanks. Would that recall on the O2 sensor be one that was missed? It comes up as an incomplete recall, so it should still be good. Go get your free O2 sensor!
AeroNautical
Mine was behind the passenger door, with the armrest punched through it. Rob That's exactly the shape mine was in, except I found it on drivers side. Why bother putting in the vehicle at all if they are just gonna destroy it, haha

Called the Jeep dealership here, they told me since its an old recall that the parts dept does not have the items to complete the recall. SO no free O2 sensor. :(

Called the Jeep dealership here, they told me since its an old recall that the parts dept does not have the items to complete the recall. SO no free O2 sensor. :( I looked into this. I found the original recall document and part number, had my parts dept look it up. The recall part number supercedes to a new part number and is still available. I think your dealer is giving you the runaround on this. Call up there and ask to speak to the service manager and explain that you have an open recall and that even though it is really old, that you found out there is a part available for it. By law they have to take care of this for you if it is an open recall. here's the recall document. You can print it out and take it with you if you want to. Their parts dept can look up the part number and supercedance just the same as my dealer can. There is no expiration on recalls through Chrysler. Keep trying! http://wagoneers.com/XJ/tech/MISC/MANUALS/88xj/88xj-fsm/recall%20561%204.0l%20eng%20fed%20vehicles%20oxygen%20sensor.pdf
