31X10.5R15 Spare

Getting some new boots and want to upgrade the spare.  Measured underneath and i don't think it will fit in the original space under the bed.  Anyone care to share their how-to?  Also I havent touch the spare since acquiring and its mounted funky looks like with gauge wire.

A 31 will fit. I've gotten a 33 under there.

I carried a 31x10.50 spare under my '88 shortbed.

Between the rear bumper and the tailgate, centered above the license plate you will see a hole which works a pulley to lower/raise the spare. Just put a long 3/8 extension in there with a ratchet and it comes down in no time.

 

I have only attempted to put a 245/75/16 under there and it worked just fine.
