2.5 I-4, AX-5, 231(drivers drop)...INSTALLED

258 I-6, T-4, Spicer 300(passengers drop)...waitin to be dropped in...

 

My question is..if I have an AX-15 from a '90 4.0 I-6..will it bolt up to the 4.2L I-6? If not, what other transfer case can I get to fit the T-4 that is drivers drop..

OR.....

what manual trans can I get that will bolt to the 4.2L I-6?

Doin this swap ASAP!!! Thanks for the time and direction in advance.

Looks like the AX-15 off a 4.0 will bolt to the 4.2 bc they are bolt small bellhousimg bolt patterns...can anyone shed some light or confirm this?

Thank ys sir..my big issue just disappeared...now begins the fun part...pullin the 2.5 and droppin in the 4.2 lol wish me luck.

Do you have any info on the 4.0 head onto the 4.2 block? What about 4.2 conversion to TBI? Heard of both increasing gains of 40+HP apiece?

Do a google search there are passages in the head that need blocked of for a ho head to 4.2 other wise yes works. Jb weld for these areas

Can't I just use the 4.0 intake manifold?

 

Flip kit..I could but I already have a AX-15 and NP231 that are bolted together..just gotta bolt up the bellhousing to the motor.

 

Stroker is in the future plan, as of now, I gotta be ready for an event Memorial Day Wknd.

Thanks for the insight...probably just stick with the stock 4.2 manifold until I can buy a Clifford's Performance intake manifold. Headers will be first tho and a cam is already on the way :D
