Goose Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I asked about this a while back. Clutch pedal rattling around 3k rpm in neutral and all gears. Goes away b pressing the pedal, but not so much to disengage the clutch. The bushing that goes between the master cylinder rod and pin is shot, so I'm replacing that. It's definitely not a transmission issue, It's a metal hitting metal sound in the cab. I checked the gromet where the cylinder rod goes through the firewall, it seems fine. I don't think that plastic bushing being worn would cause that much racket though. I'll take a video in the morning of the sound.
88mjgilley Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 did you look at the line from the master cylinder to the slave?
Harley Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Could it be that the spring is missing causing extra play in it?
Dirteatr717 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 It's most likely the plastic bushjng with the metal clip that goes through it, I got one from my local stealership a few years ago and it's shot again. It wasn't that cheap for a little piece of plastic either
88mjgilley Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 under the truck follow the line from the slave cylinder up towards the master cylinder my bet would be that the line is resting on the body causing a vibrating sound
Dirteatr717 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 My truck does that too^ that's more of a thump sound, Goose said it's metal on metal rattling. The clutch pedal and the rod are both metal and would rattle if the plastic bushing was shot/missing
Goose Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 Searched high and low, and couldn't find one. I did find a few online though. Ordering that and clutch return spring.
Goose Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 Well, replaced both the spring and the bushing....still get a rattle between 2-3k rpm. This SUCKS!
