MJRemi
Having decided to restore Red October and swap in the AMC 20 from the 86 parts truck, I tore it down and replaced the seals, bearings, brakes, and hardware. I also had a fill plug pipe welded to the cover due to the OE plug being stripped and frozen. After a little engine enamel paint and Lucas LSD gear oil, she's ready for the metric ton springs to go back on under some lowering blocks. I may start a "projects" thread for this truck just to keep track of the transition from near death to better than new. dasbulliwagen
NICE! Might have been a good time to add a drain plug too, but oh well! Keep it up!
MJRemi
NICE! Might have been a good time to add a drain plug too, but oh well! Keep it up! I went back and forth on the drain plug idea but decided to skip it based on the infrequency of needing to drain the differential of a street truck. I kinda wish I had but it's too late now.
