ComancheKid45
Hey guys, I recently picked up a 1991 XJ and noticed the "Maint Req" light was on. I know on the Renix equipt vehicles theres a small timer box under the dash that mearly has to be unplugged to resolve the problem. However there doesnt appear to be a similar solution on this 91. I'm new to the OBD1 Jeeps and this is my 1st 91-95 XJ ive had the pleasure of working with. I do plan on replacing the o2 sensor shortly. Just was curious on how to reset the light? Thanks! gogmorgo
I've been ignoring mine... there's tape residue over it, so I suspect it's an ongoing "issue" from the PO. From my searches about it, yeah, it looks like you've got to get a scanner to reset it. I'm due for a complete replacement of the exhaust from the manifolds back, so I was going to wait until then to do anything about it. Mostly I'm replying to this topic because I'm also interested in the answers...

HOrnbrod
^^^ Ditto. The timer is the ECU and can only be reset by the stealer with the DRB-II.
gogmorgo
Like one of these? Seems almost useful enough for the $150 after shipping, except I'm pretty near broke and would be buying it just to turn a light off...
HOrnbrod
Killer deal if they functioned.
