Biotex
I hear a lot of wind noise coming from the top of the door. I can see daylight between the rubber and the top of the door frame, so I'm certain that is the cause. From the outside, I can tell by the body lines that the door itself is positioned perfectly in the opening, and no sagging hinges. After studying it a bit, it seems that if I push in on the door harder (even though it is latched shut), it closes up the gap. The rubber is very soft and pliable with no tears. So my question is on how to adjust the door so it closes tighter. Do I loosen the part of the latch that looks like a big bolt and is screwed into the B pillar and move it inboard some? Or is there a better adjustment method? Oh, and what the heck is a warning point under my icon?

cruiser54
Try that first. You probably don't wanna know what we used to do at the dealership to fix that.

cruiser54
BFH I presume. Heavens, no!! LOL. Way more sophisticated than that. Roll the window down. Place your knee at the bottom of the window opening. Pull the window frame toward you real hard. Check your progress and repeat as needed.
ParadiseMJ
I "adjusted" the door on my XJ with a 4" fence post and the latch method. I read it on one of these forums. I rolled the window down, with the door open, stuck the post thru the window and applied some manual torque with the post against the window frame...not too much...just enough to bennnd the top of the door. Don't try to over muscle it. Then I tightened it up at the "bolt looking thing". the catch moves in/out about 3/8-1/2" when it's loose so a bit at a time til it's tight. Clay Perrine
I have the same problem with my passenger door. What is the "bolt looking thing"?
Biotex
I have the same problem with my passenger door. What is the "bolt looking thing"? I think it is called a striker or something like that. It is a post that is screwed into the b pillar half way up so the latch can secure to it. cruiser54
Striker pin located on the body that the latch grabs on to..
maddzz1
You can also get 97+ weather stripping, it's thicker. It made a big difference on my truck.
