Pete M Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I assume you mean 297? I've heard they are stronger, not sure how much, but every little bit counts when it comes to U-joints. I don't think the 760s ever came stock in an XJ, but they are the same size as the 297s, just stronger.

Pete M Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 If I remember right, 97+ in everything. Before that, look for ABS on the non-CAD axles. Back to maybe 90 I think. Could be wrong on that one. You can always buy an axle in good shape and then upgrade the shafts/joints later if they turn out to be 260s.

87manche Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 an ABS axleshaft will have the tone rings on it, just behind the U-joint on the axle side yoke., It's a splined collar.
