huck731
ok, coming from the vw world I am used to many different companies out there that have tons of aftermarket/oem replacement parts. What are some websites that should be in my favorites tab for the comanche or universal jeep parts? side note: right now I am dd'ing this truck untill I get back from an upcoming deployment when I willbe buying a brand new car, then I can have fun with the jeep. PatO
Stay very, very far away from Rocky Road Outfitters. Check any reviews you can find on any internet business you are considering. Quadratec has been more than OK with my orders with them. Pay a little more with them but have customer service and a really good selection. dasbulliwagen
www.rockauto.com has been excellent on pricing and quick shipping for OEM parts. Quadratec may have more Jeep specific stuff, but for maintinance or wear items rockauto has been great. Thats if you can wait a couple days for shipping. If you need stuff fast any local auto parts store should be able to help. I also came from the VW world. AIr cooled that is. Pricing on VW stuff has been going steadilly up for a while, and it was just time for me to get out and into something different. I'm a Jeep dealer tech, so some Jeep stuff has been falling in my lap, making it cheaper to do Jeeps for the time being. I do long for another Karmann Ghia though. huck731
right now I am mainly looking for replacement floor pans and rockers, although I have been bringing home scrap steel from work ,(20 guage, I work in the sheet metal union). ftpiercecracker1
floor pans shouldnt be to hard to get a hold of, but rockers you can pretty much forget about. I searched for months and the ones i found i was told would require serious modification. At 50 bucks a pop, not including shipping i decided to repair my old ones. dasbulliwagen
If you need rockers, and do some offroading, a popular mod is to cut the old ones out, and intall 2x6 box steel tubing. They take care of the rocker area and add skid protection, while being thick and tough. Might be an option. Search on here and on www.naxja.org for the mod and youll come up with several builds showing how this is done.
