Zenobian_84 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Installed nifty XJ chrome handles yesterday; still have to polish 'em up though. I was looking at an old post by Shelbyluvv where he used aircraft-stripper to remove the black plastic surround on the weatherstripping pieces *EDIT* (on the door). Is there any other way besides using A-S to remove the trim? And if removed, does it affect the seal along the window? Curious minds would like to know; since I'm trying to step up my chrome game.
Blue88Comanche Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 the metal around the front windshield is mostly for looks. I don't know what type of metal it is (haven't checked) but it does not seem to rust.
shelbyluvv Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 The window wipes come off the trim. AS stripper is all I found that worked.

shelbyluvv Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 My doors are factory 86 doors. I have no windows in it right now.
