The Impossible Part!

Thanks everyone for your great help on the MJ so far. I think i've reached a make or break point. I received the MJ without a fuel tank. I now have the replacement tank, but have spent 5 weeks unsuccessfully looking for a fuel sending unit? Has anyone else encountered this issue? Not sure if there are any alternatives. I even tried hiring a parts broker who said they found one, but when I received it wasn't even close. Are there any creative options?

Sending units are unfortunately specific to MJs and not in production anywhere. You can modify an XJ unit to fit (not sure exactly what this process entails) but if you need an actual MJ sending unit, your best hope is either a junkyard or someone here on this forum. I think Jim (jimoshel) found a couple recently in a junkyard, I would ask him. Good luck! :thumbsup:

I find it somewhat offensive that there's (obviously) at least one company out there that can make repro tanks, but nobody's making the sending units.

Did you end up getting the part? Does anybody have a sending unit for an 18 gallon tank? Cost plus shipping?
