Greasing Fittings

Recommended Posts

Going to spend some change on a grease gun soon; so I can eliminate the need to go up to where my father works and borrow one of the technician's guns.

Question is, and it sounds noobish, but the grease you use in the gun is the "general purpose grease" right? No heavy super duty mega stuff? Its pretty much just going to be used on the usual components every few months or so. I figure it'll pay for itself in the longrun

One of my favorite quotes "grease and oil make for cheap insurance" and yes general purpose grease should be all you will ever need. Just be carefull on certain joints that have a rubber cap not to put too much grease as to cause the rubber to pop off, like your tie rod ends.

Places where to find grease joints. ..

universals on driveshafts and knuckles (some arent greaseable)

all your steering linkage ends

actually, i think thats it.
