MJRemi Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 After removing the gauge cluster on the 87 to repair the plastic speedo boot, I went for a test drive to check my repair and the speedo worked fine. BUT nothing else worked. All other gauges were dead. After about a mile, every gauge kicked on and worked fine for the duration of my test drive. For future reference, is there some sort of re-set mode for gauges or is this a freak experience?

Thought I was the only one that that had happened to. :dunno: I remember swapping out my gas gauge a while back for another one, and it didn't work. 10 miles into my drive, it just snapped on. And yes, my FSU is 100% operational. Temperature gauge did that one time as well too. I'm thinking it has to be a freak thing though. Usually they don't act up when swapped out; at least most of the ones I've swapped / seen. :???:
dasbulliwagen Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Whenever that happens to me, Ive found that it is the fuse for the guages. Mine is a little corroded due to age, and wiggling it around a little makes everything work again.
