drcomanche
So, as if I need more stuck bolt problems after the seatbelt to frustrate me, I can't seem to get my O2 sensor to budge even a bit in either direction. I have heated up the pipe, pb blastered it, got the specific socket for O2 removal, I even got desperate and locked the vice grips on there, but nothing worked. :headpop: Any ideas? shelbyluvv
7/8s wrench and a BFH. Slide the wrench over the sensor and hit it hard as hell with the hammer.
drcomanche
That seems to be the best option since the O2 socket just bends. However, I would hate to sever the wires on my dd and it still not come out.
ComancheKid45
just unlug it and slide the wrench over ;)
drcomanche
The plug is too big to fit through it.
JeffN
take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld a new O2 sensor bung in right behind the old sensor and just unplug the old and plug the new in. If you really want it out heat the bung portion till it is cherry red, it should come out, of course a propane torch will never get it hot enough. Keyav8r
Put a wet shop towel on the sensor while you're heating the bung. Cooling the sensor while heating the bung will loosen the threads more. You'll have to keep wetting the shop towel to keep from burning it, but it will increase your chances of getting the sensor out without wrecking the manifold. (Steel manifold -right?)
