Hey all,

Just thought Id share, I haven't posted in a while. I have been diagnosed with Acute Ulnar Neuropathy. In short, I have a pinched nerve in my elbow that affects the feeling in my ring and pinky finger on my left hand. the effect is complete loss of feeling in those 2 fingers. Also as a result I have lost muscle tissue between my thumb and index finger, which leaves me with almost no strength in my left hand. I go in for a nerve function at the end of the month, and then 8+ weeks of occupational therapy. So...My welding plans for my MJ are on hold until I regain some of my hand function.....Ugh. The silver lining? The doc did assure me it was Ok to do some 12oz arm curls and lift some Rolling Rock. :D

Just think of all the fun you will have teaching the wife how to do the wrenching on the MJ ( we see a number of ladies in the CC that are good welders ) :clapping: More seriously , I hope all goes well with your surgery and a timely recovery .

It should work it's way back to normal after therapy. I had a similar issue with the same results, but mine was from a needle used for giving allergy shots. I wondered why they used so long of a needle compared to my other allergist. Now I know, after asking the Dr. why their needles were so long (and my family Dr. telling me it was a damaged nerve because of their practice) the allergist just said this. I know one thing for sure we're going to stop treating you because obviously it isn't helping. No, rather than admit fault he just stopped seeing me. Cop Out My family Dr said it would return to normal in about 6 months! It luckily took only 3 months or so, but it wasn't comfortable!!

Good luck!!

That's great you are doing therapy and not surgery. Hopefully surgery will be the last option. I herniated a disk in my lower back and felt so much better after the first treatment. It was a long process but much better than going under the knife.
