carnuck Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Use the correct flexplate/flywheel. 360 and 304 are slightly different balancing. (360 takes more) Don't use a 4 bbl intake meant for the 304 on the 360 (SP2P especially) If you are dealing with a TH400 to 727 trans, the flexplates are different AND the TH400 required a thin sleeve in the crank pilot hole. If you bolt the 727 up to it with the sleeve still in there (about the size/thickness of a speedi sleeve) you WILL punch the front pump of the 727! It'll run maybe a week tops before it self destructs. (I see that a lot on FSJs when people put '79 and older motors into '80 and newer rigs) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
