my86mj
will a 5 speed transmission off a 2.5 93 wrangler fit up to my 2.8?
Eagle
It should, but I'm not 100 percent certain.
Pete M
yup. though it might rotate the t-case up a hair. which can be a good thing. :D
my86mj
sweet. doing an engine rebuild with a crunchy tranny sounded dumb to me :wrench:
Geonovast
Remember to use the bellhousing and bearing retainer off your current trans to keep your external slave.
mvusse
It will definitely rotate the transfer case up a bit. This may or may not be an issue with the MJ/XJ transfer case shifter, but I don't know for sure as I use a YJ shifter in mine. With a high pinion D30 it also causes interference between the double cardan joint on the transfer case end of the driveshaft and the floor. It may or may not do this with a low pinion D30. Pete M
Some guys have found minor interference with the floor when installing YJ/TJ transmissions, others have not. had no interference in mine. :dunno: a big hammer solved the issue for the others :D interference with the driveshaft is a new one to me. One thing I forgot, you'll want to re-use your trans shifter. the YJ one is different.
