Automan2164
Welcome to the club... We'll get you trained yet. Nice truck, good base to start with... But check that clutch master cylinder for current leaks with the paint melted away like that... The brake fluid eats the paint - more importantly, melts/destroys fuse boxes, leading to a huge headache. Rob

Dot 5 will not Eat up the fuses. Nice MJ and Welcome to the Club

luvmyglock
Well, Here's another update. Not too much to see here, but I got some more stuff done. I got the transmission drained and new fluid put in. It was every bit as nasty as the brake fluid was...maybe more so. Tranny shifts great now. Smooth as butter. During my test drive, however, I noticed some weird stuff. First off, the dash lights dimmer is operating backwards (turn it couterclockwise to brighten). I have no idea what is going on there..but I can only guess some wires are hooked up backwards. The same thing is going on with the the parking brake light. When the brake is on the light is off, but when I take the brake off the light turns on  Anybody know what is going on there?I also got the bumper taken off cuz it's nasty. I painted it with my new best fried: rustoleum spray can bedliner. The texture is awesome, and I ran a test for durability and its very durable. Sweet.Image Not Found Image Not Found More pics of the bumper finished and on the truck are coming this week. I'm still trying to find a new set of side view mirrors, which are quite elusive! Really, I would only need the driver's side..not exactly a tall order. For some reason I cannot find one though. Odd.

luvmyglock
New Update! I know it's been a while, but the MJ hit the back burner in favor of some other projects. So I have begun body work, and will be painting the Manche desert tan with black accents such as the cowling and fender flares. I am removing rust and removing dents now...I have got a ways to go. This body was destroyed by the previous owner. I even have some places that will need to be welded together or replaced...we'll see how that goes. Me and my little helper have a crazy road ahead. Timeline for the final paint job completion is a month. We'll see.... luvmyglock
***UPDATE*** So I have started the priming! The body work is killing me..LOTS of dings and dents...not to mention the removal of the flaky, crappy paint that was on there before! I finally got the tailgate stripped. I also removed all the tailgate hardware, and will be powdercoating it this week. I just got my new powdercoating setup, so we'll see how it works. I am powdercoating the handle and all of the hardware related to the tailgate black. I also got the passenger side of the bed's body work done, and primed it today. It looks a thousand times better, as copared to the pics in my initial post. You can see there were some pretty intense dents! randomguy310
are the leds just a store bought thing for the gauges?
luvmyglock
Sorry for the late response. The LEDs were bought on Amazon. They are cheap, and light up the area real well!
