dotis
Thanks for the input on my fuel injection problem, looks like it's the injector (86 2.5 TBI) and my parts store is saying $307.00 Does anyone know where I can get this cheaper?
Mitch
Link to EBAY I really don't know if these are compatible, but maybe they will work for you?

87manche
$300 is crazy. find out what lb/hour the injector is and then match it up with a generic one. Ford injectors are common upgrades for the 4.0, I imagine you can find something similar for the 2.
dotis
I just talked to Dr. Injector he lists on ebay, he says the 87-90 2.5 injector he has listed cross references to the 86, does that sound right? He sells it for $77.
87manche
it PROBABLY is the same injector, the only difference I can think of is that the connector might be a little different.
BLHTAZ
Yes, the injector is the same for 1987 - 1990 MJ & XJ 2.5L engines.
fiscus
I think someone here is parting out an 86, wouldn't it have that part?
mjeff87
I'm heading down to the junkyard tomorrow, and can snag one for you if you want. IIRC, they charge $5 or so. No guarantees that it'll be a good one, but if you want me to grab it let me know. Jeff

carnuck
Most of the time you only need the oring seal kit and a can of BG's 44K in the tank to fix the TBI injectors. (or a bottle of CD2 Maximum Fuel Economy, but it seemed to go away @2002. I tried to save as many as I could. It got my '86 MJ 25-30 mpg average on the trip to Ouray in '02 with a 6,000lb gross weight, 3" lift and alignment knocked out of whack by a delivery truck in CO. dotis
Well I rang out the wires to the fuel injector, I have 3.5 volt there, is that what I should expect? Now I have to look at the ecm I guess as that is where the other inje ctor wire goes. Apparently the injector was NOT it.
