Live For God Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I have a '88 Comanche and a '82 Datsun 810D Maxima with a 2.8 liter 6 cylinder diesel and I am thinking about putting the diesel in the Comanche. just seeing if there is any one that has done that and if there are any suggestions. (needs some black smoke behind that one) :typing: this isn't me :hateputers: that one is more like it
JeepcoMJ Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I know nothing about the datsun motor, but if it's considered reliable, why not? Even if you have to use a divorced tcase it would still be cool

I'll bet it would bolt right up to a Datsun pickup tranny.
carnuck Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I already looked into doing this, but missed out on the motor I was going to buy. An LD28 is good as long as you NEVER overheat it! The bell pattern is the same as Zcar so you have auto or stick option. I would run pretty tall gears as it's not a high RPM motor and makes it's best torque in the low band.
