mpace6a Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I recently locked my CAD over due to one of the steel vacuum lines being cut, but was wondering if i can pull all of them, because the CAD lines were connected to a line that went to my tcase. So can i pull that too and just plug where it connected at the tcase, or is that needed for other things?
ftpiercecracker1 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 what do you do with the transfer case acuator? if thats what it is called :dunno: . there are 4 vacuum lines running to it.
mpace6a Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Thats what I'm referring to, the four lines that come plug into the top of the tcase, do I need them, or can i pull them and plug the holes on the tcase?
05mxdiesel Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I just left the lines connected to the tcase after I locked my cad, the metal lines by the passenger side control arms I ripped out. There is a vacume line below the coolant overflow tank that needs capped.
mpace6a Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Thats what i'll do then, and just cap where they go. I found a good vacuum diagram, but it didnt have anything about the cad/tcase vacuum lines, only the those going to the engine/intake. Which is still too many.
NotMatt Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Pull all the lines out and cap off the original at the engine. The actuater in the t-case is just the vacuum switch that locks and unlocks the front disconnect... if you already locked that into place permanently, you don't need it. Just leave the switch in place to keep dirt out of the t-case, but unplug all the lines from it and throw it all away.
