HKB3
So I searched and found a few threads about putting a 22 gallon Dakota fuel tank in a Comanche but all were 97-up swaps(which I plan on doing in the future) for right now I still need the use of my truck and my fuel tank is leaking(rust, I pulled it this morning) was thinking of going ahead and install a Dakota tank, how much trouble will it be to adapt it to work in my 1992 2.5L ? Would it be worth the trouble or should I just get a new stock tank? Thanks
peteco
wouldn't a pick and pull have a tank? anyone know if a cherokee tank works?
Eagle
wouldn't a pick and pull have a tank? anyone know if a cherokee tank works? I would expect a tank from a pick-n-pull to be full of leaks. Just buy a new MJ tank -- they aren't all that expensive. No, a Cherokee tank won't work. They are completely different.

johnj92131
Here is a link to JCWhitney and Commanche tanks: http://www.jcwhitney.com/replacement-oe ... 169y1991j1 More at JCwhitney: http://www.jcwhitney.com/spectra-fuel-t ... 169y1991j1 Don't forget to check Ebay: Lots of tanks there with prices all over the place. If your 92 is a short bed then you need 18 gal tank. Long bed needs 23.5 gal tank
87Warrior
The Dakota tank will not work with your existing fuel pump and sender. The MJs fuel pump and sender are side mounted while the Dakota is top mounted.
