JENSSEN Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Can someone run this vin for me please so I know what I have here?
JENSSEN Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 Well I bought it,.. 1989 Comanche Eliminator,.. Manche #4
fiatslug87 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Nice, congratulations. It should be '90 not an '89 since the 10th digit is an L, K is '89.
Automan2164 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Nice, congratulations. It should be '90 not an '89 since the 10th digit is an L, K is '89. The 4x4 emblem also give this away. The only first gen Elim's that were 4x4's were '90's. Rob

I took a gamble that it was an eliminator and bought it 1hr after I viewed it, it was destined for the shredder )))shudders((( I didn't plan on owning 4 , but the deals keep showing up. I will see if I can make it start after it arrives tomm. The pans seemed really good from the outside, mice have run rampant in it so a good clean is in order. The tumble for the iggy is stuck forward, the air filter is soaked with oil , the body is ok some rust over the rear wheel flares, interior seems complete, more info tomm. I will call it the ranch manche as it got pulled from a field
JENSSEN Posted April 1, 2012 Author Posted April 1, 2012 Is there a VIN decoder that will tell me all the details on it? All the ones I googled didn't give any real info on it
Jeepman Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 OK So here is the Info I can Look Up... - 1990 Jeep Comanche - 5 Speed Manual - 4X4 - Full Skids - D44 Rear Axle 3:07 Gears and Trac Loc Diff - 18.5 Gallon Tank - Your Rotors are Still On Recall so You can ge them changed for FREE Build Date of Oct 9 1989 In Servie Date of Mar 31 1990 If You want a Proper Build Sheet Go into your Local Dealership with the Ownership and They can print you the build Sheet or you can email Chrysler and they will email you back the build list but the printout is much better...
JENSSEN Posted April 1, 2012 Author Posted April 1, 2012 It kidding! I can get free rotors??? How do I do that?
Jeepman Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Just go to your local Dealer and give them the Ownership... They will run it and It says the Rotors are Still under Recall so Then you book an apointment and drive or tow the Jeep there and they change the rotors for FREE... DO not expect them to put pads on for free as they will charge you an hours labour to do so but the rotors are a Safety Recall so it will remain there problem till they change them out... Good luck
