96 grand marquis again. hesitation this time

if you push the gas pedal too fast, the engine gasps and tries to stall. if you push slowly, it works ok. does the same in gear as in neutral. idles fine. sounds fine. started doing this right outta the blue.

edit: took it for a spin and now it'll be fine, then bad, then fine, then bad. I think a fuel filter change is in my near future. can't hurt, right?

have you run injector cleaner through the system :idea: i would start there since it quick and easy the next area is this vehicle EGR equipped if so then that would be the next place to check just a thought

TPS could be going out or a patch of water in the fuel.

went to the junkyard and picked up a couple TPS's, an EGR and a MAF and it turned out the MAF was the problem. :wrench: (out of about 12 cars, only one still had a MAF in it)
