my sister's big white boat is slow to wake up in the morning or any time it's been sitting a while. the car needs to warm up before the trans will start transferring power. any thoughts? I'm looking to drop the pan and change the filter pretty soon (it's due).

For a couple months, then it stopped working entirely

Sounds about right. I worked for a cab company in northern MN for a few yrs (COLD winters). The entire fleet was a mix of vics and marquis. I learned to hate those damn things. When ours would start to act like that, if we didn't change em right away they would give out completely within about a month or so. Sometimes they would last a bit longer but not very often.

I had an Econoline Van like this.

You could start it up, put it in drive, and it would just sit there for 10-15 minutes.

Finally, when it was good & ready, it would pull out of the spot, and operate completely normally.

I drove it like that for months,

then one day while I was driving it,

(fully warmed up, and miles from home)

the trans started slipping, drove another 100 feet or so,

then would not move forward under its own power.

It backed up just fine, but I didn't think I could make the 6-7 miles home in reverse in a van without windows. :ack:

I ended up parking it in a field, and it became my first apartment :chillin:

Try the tc solenoid first...not expensive. Then the while trans. No sense doing a tc when the trans will already have continents in it from old one. It will wreck new one abcs cost twice as much.

whoa pat. do you have chubby fingers on a new phone? :rotf:
