fiatslug87 Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 For the 4.0? Good question, I always assumed they were the same but the '90 parts catalog has different PNs for auto and manual TBs (same between years). :hmm:
Geonovast Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 AFAIK the only difference is the TPS, and even then an auto TPS should work on a manual, but not the other way. The TB itself should be the same.
Pete M Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 excellent. :D then tomorrow I should be able to wrap up one more thing on the 90 and get that much closer to driving it. maybe 2 if I can borrow a corded drill (the battery on my cordless is preventing me from drilling where I need to) p.s. having a spare parts vehicle around is AWESOME!!! bought it for the engine, and so far it's given up brake parts, throttle parts, wiring parts, steering column, etc. (engine is still there though)
Pete M Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 so after all that, the throttle still sticks. grrr.... but the XJ the TB came from had cruise and the cruise cable bracket gave me a perfect spot for an additional spring and now it works fine. :D
