mike Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007 since it's a resistor it cuts down on the voltage going to the pump which makes it run slower, thats why it's quiet. jump the resistor and the pump will get full volts and run at max rpm thats why it's louder. i bet the pump will wear out faster though running at max, but i'm sure it'll be ok to do that for a short period of time, like for example to make it back home.
