jeepman 87
Put in a new stricker button on driver door and new headlight switch but still no dash lights :wall:
nitroxsteve
When I brought my tuck home all the light bulbs were shot. Have you looked at those yet?
jeepman 87
Haven't looked at light bulbs but every time I put a fuse in the gauge slot and turn on the lights about 2 to 3 seconds the the fuse will pop, but also in that time frame I don't even see any lights come on ( could the circuit board be bad ) ? nitroxsteve
Sorry I'm not much help past the Bulbs. Also this should be in the tech section and you,ll probably get more help. I don't know how to get it moved.
jeepman 87
Any guesses
Zenobian_84
Could be a loose wire where the installed switch is? :dunno: Other than the bulbs, a loose connecting wire, or something wrong with the fuse box, I'm not sure what the matter could be. jeepman 87
If any bulbs are not working or broke would that cause the fuse to blow
HOrnbrod
Try turning your headlight knob fully ccw with your headlights on. That's the illumination control for the dash lights.
jeepman 87
Tried all of that, but as soon as I turn on lights fuse pops for gauge lights
HOrnbrod
Tried all of that, but as soon as I turn on lights fuse pops for gauge lights  How about if you pull the headlight switch one stop (parking light position) does the dash illumination fuse blow? Also which fuse is blowing, and what vehicle are we talking about?
jeepman 87
Haven't tried that, and it's a 89 eliminator 4.0 auto 2wd soon to be 4wd, it's the 7.5 amp fuse for gauge lights. If you look at fuse box it's the one at top right corner
HOrnbrod
Try it. If the fuse blows when you turn on the parking lights then you have a dead short in the illumination circuit. Have you done any work on the radio lately?
jeepman 87
Put in a new radio and had to run a new ground
64 Cheyenne
Disconnect the radio, see if the fuse blows.
