89 4.0 Quite running

Ran Sat, Then quite. Thought it was Hot but when cooled down only the starter turns. Checked and have No Spark from coil, no Signal to Injectors. All Grounds Good, Looks like ECU. Need a pin out of the Harness to check for voltage and signal

Replaced W/temp, knock and crank sensors

Except you said you replaced that already :dunno:

 

Make sure you are getting power to the ecm, and check all main grounds.

Not the CPS, replaced it Twice. NPT the ECU,ICU, coil. Have signals to ECU, But no fire from Coil

check the hall effect sensor in the distributor, aka pickup coil

I had a similar problem with one of my trucks and it ended up needing the engine bay harness bypass TSB that is still available from most Jeep dealships. The link is a .pdf file

It allows the CPS to communicate directly with the ECM to avoid signal loss.

What to kick Sons A$$, two weeks of trouble shoot signal to fire coil.... Found Main harness ground not attached, He tucked it behind harness so it was not in the way. Never seen it when he put the head back on. Was making a ground for about 1/2 when it ran, then test drove it. Ground not make a connection... on fire to coil or signal too injectors. Replaced CPS, coil, ICM, ECU..$250 down the tolet due to ground wire.

hey you live, you learn. the simple things tend to get looked over when your mind is racing trying to figure it out. at least your good to go on everything replaced

I'm have the same problem on my 89 with a 2.5 I'm getting no spark from coil my wireing harness is all messed up does anyone have a wiring diagram that will help find out which wires go to the control module
