jeepman 87
I have a 98 mj and put 99 Cherokee doors on it, they fit fine but the pass door was bad so I got a 97 Cherokee pass door and it doesn't fit, big gap by cab corner side and now hits fender, I put another shim on top and bottom but won't shut, I really just want to know if different year doors are shorter or longer or what can I do :dunno:
jimoshel
You have a very rare MJ. want to sell it? Anyhoo, '97 up parts will not fit '92 back MJ or XJ.
lostissues
you mean you have an 88 MJ? lots of parts are interchangeable, some require a little creativity to make it work but you can. the doors should be the same size. you may just have to keep messing with the shims. Blue XJ
You have a very rare MJ. want to sell it? Anyhoo, '97 up parts will not fit '92 back MJ or XJ. How so? I put 2000 xj doors on my 88 mj a few months ago, they fit just fine
johnnyc
Try to take the fender off completely and mount the door first.
jeepman 87
Sorry it's a 89 eliminator short bed and thanks for info. Went to dungeon and found out my hinges were bent out some, but also my latch is shot, so now I have to order a latch and new fender and hope it all works. Then she is going to the shop to get new rockers and floor boards then sanded and painted
btm24
Why do you need a new fender if your just replacing the hinges and latch? Brandon
