Just bought a 2000 VW Passat GLS Sportwagen - V6-4motion-Tiptronic for my bride , a small step up from Ford Escort wagon . :cheers: Gord
cody4359 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 vortex is a pretty big site, tho it has quite a few bad apples and not as supportive as comanch club. make sure you baby that tranny, tip tronics have a ton of eletroncis and are major $$ to repair

cody4359 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 keeping clean tranny fluid in it, just reg maintance- will probably be fine. for some reason auto trannys don't get the servicing they need by most owners. i think its every 30k mi your supose so drain fluid and do a filter change :hmm:

Xacto Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 The technical forums at the Vortex seem to be a little more civilized than the individual model forums. There are subforums for the V6, 4-motion, and transmission there. Congrats on the new VW, I have an 02 GTI and love it.

When I'm looking for VW stuff I'm looking for info and answers more then to be part of a group. I've found that Vortex usually has what I'm looking for.
