cody4359
only 412 ci  lol like thats small :USAflag: how did you pull the motor out of the mj? i looks like you just riggrd up to the motor and pulled, following the tcase with a jack so you could lower it? i recently put motor/tranny/tcase in my truck with a pretty painted engine compartment and it was a pain.. CTswampyankee
only 412 ci  lol like thats small :USAflag: how did you pull the motor out of the mj? i looks like you just riggrd up to the motor and pulled, following the tcase with a jack so you could lower it? i recently put motor/tranny/tcase in my truck with a pretty painted engine compartment and it was a pain.. well the 412ci is still a small block.... only 450-500hp with just a 750 holly on top no power adders. lol And for the MJ I did put the engine in from crank pully to t case output shaft. But as you can see in the pic i had the use of a towtruck with a exstended boom. I had it lifted pointing streight up in the air untill the t case cleared the front bumper of the MJ. Then rolled the truck under an slowly lowerd the engine combo in the engine compartment till i could get a jack under the t case. Then slowly lowerd the engine as a freind guided the tranny an tcase underneath. I did have the intake an exhaust manufold off when i installed it. And not really shure if it made for more room but the break master an booster is also out of the truck. It was a lot easer an went smother than exspected. I don't beleave i bumped the inside of the engine compartment much at all, but didnt realy notist since its not cleaned up at all haha
CTswampyankee
Figgerd i play musical hopties today... Towed both my MJs home. But after another used injector install i still have major fuel leaks! wtf! now all my junks are sitting at home

Thanx on the rims.. haha kinda funny was doing scrap at a freinds an saw them. There for a F150. Then rememberd i had adaptors off my old 99 XJ ive had around for past 3 years. Got the rims for free, had the adaptors, an tires were free old 31s haha And for the lift the front is a rustys 4.5 spring an rustys 1.75in spacer. The rear is stock 2wd springs with 1 over load leaf off my Pioneer SOA

CTswampyankee
Been slowly tinkering with my jeep some more. Finaly gettin the dash back together. I found a big section of wiring chewed thrugh from mice under the heater control. I rewired it all. Hoping i don't come across any more..... I started swapping in dash parts from my Pioneer. Swaped in the gages but kept my spedo to keep the miles right. It looks a lil diff but in mot making a show truck, but a truck to use! Swaped in the spedo cable from my other tuck. Found the 2wd cable is too short. I scored my cig lighter (so i can charge my phone haha) Hears a pic of what my dash looks like now. Notist the diff color gages.... And i know i still have 2 shifters...... :dunce: Also i mounted my Posi-loc in a diff spot. In the spot under the dash above the gas pettle it hist my knee. I mounted it here above the e break release. I still evean have the speaker there!
CTswampyankee
I desided to take my jeep for its first ride off road today. Just went out in my back fields. Took it easy still don't have rear shocks or drive shaft...
CTswampyankee
Today i just put my front break line exstentions on. But at full flex thers still tention on my lines. Is there any cheap longer rubbor break hoes? Ive herd stock YJ will work??? But i still played around in my yard a lil bit.. Not bad for just front wheel drive haha.. Climbing the same rock with my long bed got tippy an this truck just flexes..
Rymanrph
I put YJ lines on my TJ with long travel shocks and it was never a problem. All that tells you though is that YJ lines are longer than TJ lines. I'm not sure how they compare to the XJ/MJ lines.
CTswampyankee
Been out putting some miles on my truck now. Trying to work the bugs out. I beleave i got my MAJOR death wobble fixed with a better alignment... I took out on a small wheeling adventure... Other than still no rear shocks (lil bouncy..), She did very good. The only prolblem i had is it would run hot, 240+ wile going slow. I'm only running the engine driven fan and no eletric fan. That is all my old manche had since it was a non AC truck. I since put in a 160 thermostat and a factory eletric fan to a switch an realy. I havent been in the woods yet but around town runs ice cold! Out wheeling had to pull out my buddys 96 XJ with 3in lift burried to the rockers haha And for a added touch i hooked up this Power/ comfort switch for my fan. on power an light on my fan is running. This switch is no longer needed with my AX15 swap.
CTswampyankee
Got my over heating prolblem all fixed. Went out for a entire day of wheeling with my MJ an 2 buddys wranglers. A 91 YJ on 35s and a 01 TJ on 33s I evan got some vids on facespace lol http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 5438720216 http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 3528720407 The only prolblems i had was my Y pipe on my pase setter header came off on me in the trail, and now my track bar is waisted. I been looking around at hevy duty track bars and mounts but not shure what to get just yet.. I'm leanning torweds a Rough Country bar. I do plan on long arms soon an want somthing that will hold up. CTswampyankee
Got my track bar fixed with a Rustys offroad HD upgrade an frame mount. Seems to be a lot better now. Tooke back out for some more fun. My buddys 97 gutted XJ was the first carnage of the day. Snaping a rear axle But then i ended up burring mine in a swamp logging trail..... Getting pulled out by my freinmds Claton long arm XJ My freind an i b4 compleaty coverd in mud haha
CTswampyankee
After compleatly burrning off my 31s. I now finaly put on my 33 BFG ATs. Had to remove front flairs an to some fender mods with a hammer... haha. My buddy just put a clutch in his beater f150 an tryed climbing a hill i can walk my MJ up haha. Got stuck lol
CTswampyankee
After a hard day of wheeling... my lil MJ didnt fare too well.... Endded up tacoing both my front upper control arms, an taking out the front drive shaft ujoint. Gess it didnt like a rocky hill climb holding rev limmitor 2nd gear, lots of flexing, and jumping some other small hill climbs... I drove it home after the front drive shaft came off the front diff. Found the control arms destroyed when i went to fix the u joint. my Mj to the right an my buddys XJ with a Claton 8in long arm front an rear to the left
