jeepaholic
Has anyone seen/installed/wheeled the 5.5" RE lift? I am leaning toward the Rough Country 6.5" its about 100bones cheaper. Since neither kit is a long arm i could use the 100bones to fab my own.
pingpong
Here is the RE DB setup with stock upper and lowers at Tellico in
sinnaevd
use the xj long arm kit and spring over your rear, IIRC you have to spring over the read with the 5.5 kit ne way Rubicon Express makes a solid kit that you can trust. shop around as well, there are some smaller companies i have found by searching that SEEM to have decent kits as well
BrettM
the RE drop bracket kit is really good, and WAY better than rough country crap however I strongly disagree with the RE longarm recommendation, it's a terrible design. if you want long-arms, get TnT, Full Traction or maybe Rock Krawler. Twisty
the flex with the RE brop brackets keeps amazing me. I'm having trouble deciding if i want to to TnT w/ RE 5.5" coils, or with the RE 5.5 MJ kit this summer.
sinnaevd
do either of you guys have the web site for tnt, i would like to check there stuff out and i can't find it full traction was my origional choice back when i was going to try to lift
Oizarod115
http://www.tntcustoms.com i will be going with the RE kit... my brother has had his RE XJ4.5" for 1 1/2 years now and it rides GREAT,m wheels GREAT, and is just all around GREAT. he hasnt had a single suspension or geometry related problem since his lift. (before that was a different story as a hydroplaning accident ruined his ca's and all that.)

Just curious where the problem is. Is it the path in which the axle cycles, or does it want to bind, or?

Twisty
re longarms have a weird mounting system, using self tapping bolts. not really reliable.
pingpong
Personally the setup I was running was the best set-up Pong has had to date. RE DB's with Rusty's 6.5 coils, RE HD trac bar and mount. Extended brake lines and some DT shocks. For the rear I used Chevy drop shackles and SOA
CEThomas
With going SOA on the back I am looking hard at the RE DB's on the front. Charles
jeepaholic
I just can't see buying a long arm kit. You can get the same stuff from your local tractor supply company..Little welding..drilling..bam you got yourself a custom long arm kit for WAY less money.. ;)
pingpong
Do me a favor :brows: don't use tractor supply parts to build long arms. That would be a scarey thing on the road. I am sure ppl have done it... I just don't know of any who have.. or admitted to doing it.
jeepaholic
:rotfl2: They actually work rather well..A friend of mine made trac bars out of some on his f250 and no problems..However I have already purchased 24' of 1.5" tubing and the bungs to do crossover steering and build me some long arms..I may step up to 2" tube for the long arm though..
