Didn't even think about the gas tank. Just the temp an oil.

To answer your question, it will not work with FI. Just carb. However you could use an external, inline fuel pump and it would work.

The seller's Ebay part number (53002490) crosses to an 1986 16 gallon tank. This is a complete kit, including the wiring harness. Jim, from what I'm seeing, it will work for the FI Renix era 18/23.5 gal gas tanks. :cheers:

 

Chief, I don't see any in tank wiring on that. I just see the fuel sender wires. It is a couple wires short to work on a FI engine.

Yep, you're right Bo (and jimoshel). Instead of trying to interpret the parts manual, I should have just looked at the Ebay pic. :doh: It's just a 2-wire in-tank fuel float sending unit to the gas gauge for a carbed MJ. Duh........

what about tbi? do they lump it into carburated?
