I need alot of information on this town and surrounding areas. I would say about a 50 mile radius. This includes East Ridge, Signal Mountain, East Brainerd, Fort Oglethorpe (GA), Middle Valley, Cleaveland,Calhun, Dunlap, and Tracy City. Looking for:

Price of milk

Price of Gas

Average power bill

Average heating bill

Cell phone coverage

Gun laws

Offroading

Schools

Taxes

Work outlook

Major/unique stores

Land

I am looking too, but if I can get some easy answers. Feel free to tell me anything you want.

The wife and I want to move to this area. Looking for info on what life is like there. I want to be able to go to the store if need be, but also need to be able to "get away".

This post absolutely does not belong in the CC forum, even in the Pub. You have done some cutting and pasting on your itemized list, and even managed to misspell most of it.

"I am looking too, but if I can get some easy answers. Feel free to tell me anything you want."

Not looking hard enough. Here's how to do it: Type in Chattanooga, TN in Google. Lots of stuff will appear.

What did I misspell? :huh???:

Gee thanks, I looked for an appropriate section, and I assumed the a general discussion forum would be ok. Feel free to put it anywhere you want. Yes the list is copy and pasted, from my thread on Pirate, JF, here, TTOL, and city-Data. I am trying to get as many opinions as possible, and I am using this site as a tool. Thanks for the warm feelings. I don't think you should be telling people what to do, especially with being the kind of guy that makes his dog smoke!

So, back on topic, if you live in Chattanooga, what is your opinion of the area?

I don't make him smoke - he chooses to. But he is cutting down somewhat, albeit slowly. And he always smokes outside, never in the house.

I don't live in Chattanooga, but am close by in N. Alabama. I have friends there we see often. They like it but complain about the traffic a lot. Nice scenic city on the TN river, and the fishing's great if you like to fish. And no state income tax; that's always good.

Looks like the positive answers I got here, and on other boards, have oushed the wife into moving. I was always down, but she needed convincing. Good bill prices, low-ish cost of living, plenty of spots to camp, wheel, and go hiking. Plenty of nice cities to go to, and spend time seeing the sites.

My grandma lives there. She lives in downtown Chattanooga... I think. She likes it and I do too when I go and visit. She lives kinda out in the country so I find stuff to do. My uncles house is for sale up there it's on godsey lane. Has about 14 acres with mountain property.
