Automan2164
Bo, you know you have the lowest serial number of the '86's? Rob L.
shelbyluvv
I do. I have been asking everyone who has an 86 for their last six numbers so I can see if she is the first of her kind. So far the closest is 003750. Sadly the door sticker is faded and I can't see the build date. But, everything I have taken off has had a tag or sticker that says 4/85. That is the reason I went away from the 4 door conversion on this truck. Also why I am making everything for the Magnum swap a bolt in affair. Once I saw the VIN I thought she might be an extremely early truck. The options in it were weird too. 2.5, 4X4, AX-5, A/C, no power steering, black on black, and chrome bumpers. All on a base truck? shelbyluvv
I finally manned up and peeled the door sticker off the truck. Luckily for me it was lifting right under the date stamp. I spent the better part of 15 minutes with a magnifying glass and different types of flash lights to figure out the build date. It was clear as a bell once I got it angled just right. She was built 9/85 and was put into service October 10, 1985. The build date corresponds to the in service date. Now if I could only get the day it was made I would be a happy man!
