So my old man neighbor was doin some cleaning and gave me a Flymo he bought new in the 70's also have enough parts to put another one together if i get a small engine. anyway its a 2 stroke and after cleaning the fuel out it starts right up and hovers nice i even cut the grass with it. On a different note he also gave me a 1959 cooper Klipper lawm mower ill try to get some pics up soon of them

Was wondering what a flymo was and googled it. Good youtube video of one. Never heard of one before, pretty neat.

I remember a buddy's family having a flymo... They worked good as long as you had a pretty level yard and wanted your grass cut SHORT. They would use theirs until the dog days of summer set in and you would burn the crud out of the grass if it was cut too short.

wow, what was everyone else's first thoughts when you see a guy starting an unrestrained hovering lawnmower next to his toes?

He's nuts. I'd start this thing on my driveway with the wife standing on top of it and then fly it, less the wife, to my lawn.

the one i have has a metal blade later models for safety had string like a weed wacker but ultimately i thik safety was a big factor on them. They are still sold in europe though and husqvarna owns the name i think. the euro ones look pretty cool

I use it on a steep wet hill of weeds at the back of my property
