Toyota ax-15/np231

Hey there guys,

 

I have and opportunity to pick up a toyota ax-15/np231 including everything, master cylinder clutch pedal assembly tc shifter linkage, for $75. I'm just wondering if it will bolt up in there or what?

The bellhousing is probably different, the np231 is probably different, the input shaft is probably different on the trans, and it probably has a different front case

but if you could get a little toyota diesel and put in front of it and put all THAT in your truck you'd be golden :idea:

If it's from a yota, it's probably not an AX-15. It should be an R151, very similar to the AX-15. A 4.0 bellhousing should bolt to it, but the input shaft is going to be entirely the wrong size. Are you sure it's a 231? A lot of yodas used a top shifting case.

well planned changed! originally my buddy was gonna buy it then decided not too, so i was gonna and know he wants it, so i'm buying the ax15/231 out of his for the same price! :cheers: it needs rebuilt but for 75 i can't pass it up.

so now you're getting a JEEP ax-15/231 combo for 75 bucks? thats a pretty sweet deal. round here you can get a shop to bench build that manual under 500 bucks. and you'd still be far ahead at 575 with a new (rebuilt) transmission!
