need a power/comfort button anyone got a spare

my 88 comanche 4.0 is missing the power comfort button. the wiring is there, the button /switch is missing... anyone got a spare they can send me?

any factory fog light switch will do...go to the junkyard and nab one.

I would just wire it in as power and leave it there. :thumbsup: all Jeeps (after they got rid of that button) were wired that way. the comfort button only changes the shift points (and it really only matters when you floor it).

middle wire gets wired to bottom wire, IIRC.

 

just make a jumper for it with two male spade connectors, then tape them in.

do you happen to know what the colors that get wired together are, the connector is hanging loose so there is not to and bottom

I can nab one for ya next time I go to the junkyard. I have a spare, but it's missing the faceplate, for lack of a better term. You can plug it in, but can't select power or comfort.

the black one is the ground, so the other two get wired together.

 

 

use a test light from the center to either side, see which one grounds out the light. then wire from the center to the one that does NOT ground the light out.

Yes, I have one, switch + correct faceplate that you can plug your connector to. Shoot me a PM if you need it. But I agree w. all the above - you don't need the COMFORT setting, so you might as well just hardwire it. :D

define "ground out" i am not used to reading this term. do you mean the light should be on or off

looks like I'm only missing the actual rocker switch.. i have this plastic peice that has a light. the light is off and there is no way to turn it on..
