Pulling question

Recommended Posts

I need to move a 12X10 amish shed one of the heavy built one half full of household crap about 15 feet. I do not want to pull off the bumper would it hurt to wrap the chain around the axle of the MJ? Its on skids and not sunk in the ground.

I wouldn't mount it to the axle. The axle is only held on by leaves and the leaves are bolted on to sheet metal. The trucks are getting old now and a lot of that sheet metal is getting tired.

Have you seen how a receiver hitch connects? If you could emulate that it would probably be safer.

Well I ran a chain like a hitch would mount up around and thru the frame pulled from centre no problem with the hook ups. Dang truck will not budge it even in 4 low just sat there with 3 tires spinning. I did not get crazy with it though quess I may have to unload it. Did leave a message with a escavating company a friend has a few houses down as he has lots big equpment.

Jack it up and put a couple pipes under it.

Second this suggestion. Get rid the friction by using a couple of pipes. Use two, four, six or eight. What ever it takes. How do you think the Egytian's moved limestone blocks for miles? No UFO's or alien help there.

Other alternative. Get some sheet Steel, put building on sheet steel. Drag building on sheet steel, if it won't move, add water on top of steel so it will slip.
