Virginia
I've got to remove the carpet in my truck because of water. I've done a search and can't find instructions on how to remove the bench seat. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Wildman
Search can be your friend around here :D viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21162&p=217634&hilit=bench+seat+removal#p217634
streetjeep2.5
Push seat belts through, take 4 nuts off, unplug seat belt electrical buzzer connection, lift it out, get spacers off of bolts. You will need to pull the console and take the seat belts loose also if you plan on taking the whole carpet out. Oh, yea, remove the door sill covers, the kick panels, and probably the pillar trim also for ease of taking out and putting back in. If there is a back panel below the rear window, need to remove it also.

streetjeep2.5
Yea, LOTTA work but worth it. When I bought my 'manche was wet inside. Had to pull everything. No rust, but to kill mildew used lotsa clorox and vinegar and scrubbed the youknowwhat out of the carpet. Let it dry about a week and reassembled. Virginia
I'm tempted to just leave the carpet out and put some bedliner paint down. It stays muddy and no carpet would make it easier to clean.
streetjeep2.5
Throw in one of those "over the hump" rubber mats, and your good to go! More noise in the cab, though, from drive train and road. You will get a slight ECHO - echo -ech - ec - e also!
Virginia
Sweet Mary mother of Jesus.......it STINKS. The carpet and pad is out. I found some old cardboard box and sand paper under the carpet. It's drying out now. There's a little surface rust in a few spots but the wire attachment on the grinder should make short order of that. I'll put that black stuff over it. I hadn't thought about a rubber mat. That might work great. I could make a pattern then cut it to fit. I found ants. Little black sugar ants. Sprayed that down. All in all, it's in pretty good shape. The floor pans are solid. I'm please. The bad....my Haynes manual is soaked. Not sure I can save it.
MJ is dead
That's ok. Throw the haynes manual in the trash anyway. They are junk for MJs. The site you stumbled upon is ten times better than any book you can buy at Vato zone The guys here are more knowledgable than any manual
