Unglar
My daughter was 4th in a 5 car pile up. needs a bit of frame work... She tapped the car in front of her, then got hammered by the guy behind her. She did not have rental coverage and had the only vehicle in her house, college kids.... So I loaned her the '92 MJ, I only got to drive it for 3 weeks! I learned one thing from this, there is a thing called Gap Insurance that you can get when you purchase a car. Apparently, regular car insurance only pays what the car is worth regardless of what is owed to the bank. Gap insurance covers the difference. She owed $15,000 and the truck was worth $10,500. The extra $4500 would have been out of pocket if not for the Gap insurance. She paid $250 for the Gap coverage. I have purchased several vehicles and never heard of this, fortunately I never had to total a car. I asked what State Farm wanted for the truck and they quoted $993. Not worth it with the drive train most likely damaged.
Automan2164
For $1000, looks like you could have a sweet truggy. Rob L.
Unglar
For $1000, looks like you could have a sweet truggy. Yeah, thats why I asked, however, after seeing the frame damage and the rear axle shifted forward I felt there was most likely damage all the way to the crank? jpdocdave
lol about the gap coverage, ridiculously upside down car loan situations weren't as common as they are now days either.

I think the U-joints would have taken the brunt of the impact, drivetrain-wise. Do you have the truck now? At a yard? Can you even look at it without paying the buyback? We had my brother's 92 for over a week before the insurance company needed the buyback. Bought it back, he drove it for three weeks until he got his 98, then we stripped it out. Only had a couple days to decide, State Farm hauls them off real quick. There was almost no damage to the front. I wanted to get it for my dad for the hills. Didn't really care if the frame was bent. Oh well.

jbhill
those rear rails come out after you cut out the 8 rivets on each side...900 bux is a cheap buy back, you could part it for more. the rear axle doesnt look forward, just up from the rails being drove like that. mfpdm
those rims will bolt on to a comanche... Backspacing on them suck though. You would need spacers and/or WJ lowers so they wouldn't rub. I'm getting rid of the set I have on the Mazda B truck. I think I would of had to buy it back for the price though. Lots a parts. :brows:
