Hubbell
Has anyone installed a dual battery setup in an mj and if so where did you put the second battery? Pics would be good to. Also any tips on the hookup that uses some junkyard parts would be good to. Thanks Chris
Pete M
do you have a need for 2 batts? I put one in the bed, though i haven't hooked it up to anything. But it is within jumpercable range. :D
Hubbell
Yes I'm in the process of mounting my winch. I've had the dual system on my old bronco and it definately saved my butt before. There just seems to not be enough room under the hood. The only spot that I can see is where the air box is meaning an air intake upgrade would be necessary. HOrnbrod
Yes, that's what most use, the airbox space. Then a battery box from a RHD XJ will fit in. There's some writeups on this in NAXJA.
LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
Mean Green used to make a dual battery kit (however they have discontinued it in the last year or so). Here is a pic to give you an idea of what it looks like installed.
Hubbell
Well after alot of searching I think I have found the write-up that is the most economical and easiest to understand. http://www.junkyardgenius.com/charging/dual01.html I hope this link might help someone else looking for the same answers. Also thanks for the pics that one of the engine bay will be a good reference.
